Prod By Kayy is a 21 Year old Female Producer on the come up in the south. While only been producing for a year going on 2 years she has already accomplished some major things already & created her own sound in the Nashville/Clarksville Area. Kayy has produced for many artist locally and around the world. We got to connect with her & ask her a few questions about her come up
Describe the moment you knew producing was going to be permanent for you
Man it wasn’t until My YouTube numbers was going up, I was getting like 15k-30k per beat and people was buying my beats online. I was like man I’m making this much in my sleep I gotta keep going, plus I was participating in beat battles and people loved me. I stood out because I was the only female.
Explain how it is in the studio how do you set the vibe to get started?
In the studio cook ups be the best because u get to vibe with the artist. Usually ill just ask what type of beat they want & then we go from there. They usually let me do my thing from there.
Describe the moment you first found out you got a Quando Rondo placement? Also Tell us how everything played out?
This was a dream come true moment for me. It all started when I was about to upload another beat to YouTube. I went to the “Sleep on me” beat to copy and paste the description, when I saw I had got a copy right strike that read “QRN Records x Sleep on me”, I wasn’t even thinking I looked It up Quando rondo popped up, but I didn’t see the song on iTunes so I went to YouTube and found out someone had leaked it. From then was history because just having that name gave me opportunities. He posted a snippet of it but it hasn’t dropped yet, so now I’m just waiting for him and his label but I did get to talk to the other artist on the song, so hopefully, it comes out.
If you were to talk to some upcoming producers what are your top 3 pointers you would give them
I would tell them to believe in they self because I started with nothing, but hard work and consistency will get them there. Start a YouTube and just find you an artist to stick with for a couple months. Learn how to engineer because that’s another way to get your beats heard by artist and get potential sales.
What would you say is the biggest accomplishment you’ve accomplished so far
As Far as producing I would say reaching almost 40K on one beat, 156,000 Views across my whole channels & 700,000 impressions on YouTube, The Quando rondo placement, the Poison Ivy placement that I got just by doing a feature, and just starting a sound that people know they can’t get no where else.
What are Some Things you have coming up in the near future?
Right now I’m working on branding myself more as a Producer, so I’m going to be traveling more, mostly to Atlanta & Dallas to link up with some artist and lock in. This year I have a lot of goals for YouTube, and to be more consistent. Stay tuned for more uploads, and more placements. I’m hungry.
